A big thank you to everyone who joined us in this strategic planning journey to help shape the future of Maine Farm to Institution and Maine Farm & Sea to School, two vital food system networks in our state! From here, these networks will dive into a new, combined structure for improved communications and boosted efficiency, enhancing the impact of our initiatives. Success depends on everyone's involvement and support, and we hope you’ll join us on this journey!

2021-2023

Strategic Priorities

Established in November 2020 network-wide virtual strategic planning. Read the full strategic planning report here.

 
 

1 . Maine Farm to School Institute 

The Network fundraises for and launches a Maine Farm to School Institute that provides training and support to help schools develop action plans to incorporate or expand farm to school activities, modeled after the NE Farm to School Institute.

2 . Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion

Network activities increase support for and participation of historically/currently marginalized communities in farm to school programs and leadership, diversifying network membership.

3 . Policy Advocacy

The Network mobilizes members to advocate for state and/or school district policies that support farm to school programs. See Maine Food Policy website and e-newsletter sign-up to learn more.

4. Fundraising

The Network engages in raising funds to support school / local Farm to School Programs.

5. Training & Technical Support

The Network coordinates and promotes training and technical assistance to help schools with procurement and preparation of local foods.
